2008 US Open Venue: Torrey Pines Facilities

A general view of golfers putting on a green during the Buick Inviational at the Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla, California Torrey Pines in San Diego, California, is home to the 2008 US Open golf tournament. It is only the second municipally-owned golfing facility to be visited on the PGA championship calendar. It comprises a north and a south course - the latter being the more difficult of the two and hence being the course of choice for the US Open.

The Torrey Pines golf establishment, although missing the sheer lushness and luxury of other PGA championship venues, boast a few appealing facilities which should put a smile on the face of visitors when they're not enjoying a long round of golf on either of the two courses.

The shop is a big one - at over 4 000 square feet it stocks the latest in golfing designer labels and retail fashion - so if it's golf clothing or equipment you're after, you're bound to find it here.
